The National Championship for U13 Girls at County level, sponsored by Royal London, is split into regionalised A & B divisions with the 4 Group A winners going forward to Finals day on 22nd & 23rd August at Grantham CC.



Finals Day Match Reports - Grantham CC

Semi - finals

Northants v Kent

Kent batted first, captain Grace Scrivens opened the batting making 68 out of a total of 153 a/o, fine bowling display from Jodi Grewcock taking 3-12. Kent took the field with a strong bowling attack, led by Scrivens who completed an excellent all round performance with 3-6, Isobel Shelley, bowling left arm Chinamen, and was particularly impressive taking 4-30 which included a double wicket maiden. Northants were all out for 101 with Kent going forward to the final.

Hampshire v Yorkshire

Hampshire won the toss and batted first making 130/2 with Lucia Kendall being star of the show contributing 76 runs in a composed performance. Yorkshire were initially in trouble at 17/3 but Lucy Lindley got them back on course with 43 runs, 2 quick wickets courtesy of run outs caused more alarms but a crucial 9th wicket partnership between Ellie Nightingale (20) and Holly Cooper (16) enabled a Yorkshire win by 2 wickets.

3rd / 4th place play-off - Hampshire v Northants

Hampshire won the toss again, batted first and making 168/8 with opener Ashneet Chahal scoring 44 and Lucia Kendall, again in fine form, making another 76. Northants struggled in reply to 57 a/o, captain Poppy Jay Watkins taking 3-11 and Beccy Jackson, 4-7, to give Hampshire a well-deserved win.

Final Kent v Yorkshire

Kent won the toss and decided to bowl, another valuable 19 n.o from Ellie Nightingale ensured a decent Yorkshire total of 121/8, another excellent bowling display from Kent, Isobel Shelley taking 2-10 & Ryana Macdonald Gay 3-11. In reply Kent were 104 a/o, great team performance from Yorkshire with tight bowling and fielding, Jess Tully 2-18, Shauna Yates 2-21 and Lucy Lindley 3-17 ensured they were champions winning by 17 runs.
